General Information

Packet pick up also known as registration is where you check in for the event. At packet pick up you will receive your bib (a number identifier that you will place on the front of your shirt with safety pins), shirt giveaway (if you registered before the deadline) and safety pins to attach your bib.

Dress for the weather! The 5K will be held rain or shine. If it’s cold, consider wearing gloves, a hat and a jacket. If it’s raining, bring a raincoat or poncho that you can run in. If it’s warm, wear breathable clothing.

Yes! We welcome all dashers and little dashers to the event. Participants pushing strollers must start toward the back of the race pack (does not apply to Athletes Serving Athletes or those using an assistive device).

Bonus points for making your stroller festive!

Spectators are invited to bring their positive posters, cheer gear and joyful spirit! Anyone who would like to support, encourage, and cheer on the runners are welcome to attend – no registration is needed for spectators.

While we would love to include furry friends, due to city regulations dogs are not allowed to join us at the event.

If you are in need of interpretation support please email info@gotrmidmd.org to ensure services are available. If you are in need of additional services at any time during the event, head to the command center (located at the top of the bandshell - red canopy) and Girls on the Run staff member or volunteer will be able to help you.

The 5K will be held rain or shine! However, event management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to dangerous or unfavorable conditions. Registration fees are not refundable in the event of cancellation.

In the event of needing to cancel the 5K for participant safety, notification will be sent to all participants and registered Buddy Runners via email and text message (if you opted into receiving text message updates from our council).

Nope! All current season's GOTR program participants are automatically registered for the Dash and will receive their bib from their team's coaches.

All program participants will need a Running Buddy to run with them for the duration of the 5K. Running Buddies can be a family member or family friend over the age of 16 years old. Running Buddies will need to register for the 5K.

Let your team coaches know and GOTR will find a volunteer Running Buddy to run with your girl!

Extra shirts will be limited in size and quantity. In order to receive your preferred shirt and size please register on or before November 15.

No, program participants will receive a GOTR program shirt that is different than our limited edition Dash shirts. You may purchase an additional 5k shirt for your GOTR girl when registering to be her Running Buddy.
